Singer and songwriter ‘Taurud’ from Latvia releases a new song 'My Gold'.

‘Taurud’ latest work 'My Gold' is the second single leading up to his EP.

We have nothing to lose - simply creating music that excites us. I am a lot less afraid to go and look for new sounds in musical areas where I have never been before. At the same time, I am singing about stuff that most people will relate to. This time it is all about the truth. There is something hidden in this world, and that creates a lot of suffering. Nevertheless, the song is about not losing yourself, explains ‘Taurud’.

The music and lyrics are written by ‘Taurud’. The record was made in collaboration with an incredible young producer from Manchester Sean Rogan (Spotify - Sean Rogan).

‘Taurud’ songs have previously rotated on Latvian radio stations, won the Radio SWH competition ‘Priekšnams’ and debuted on TV. This summer musician is actively performing in the UK and working on the EP, and later this year is planning to visit his home Latvia to perform in Riga and Jurmala.

Latvian musician 'Taurud' releases a new single

'Without Your Light' and announces an EP.

We met 'Taurud' with songs like  I Keep Loving You', 'I’ve Been Carrying My Past Lives With Me' and 'Night Sky'.

After a creative break, the artist is back with a new track 'Without Your Light'. It is available today on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and all major streaming services.

This time the overall sound is a little different, folkier, and seemingly more positive. Nevertheless, the dreamy feel and heartfelt vocal delivery are still there. The song is about the feeling of drifting apart, bittersweet sadness, and yet true togetherness, love, and care. 'Taurud' is working with talented musicians from Manchester, and an up-and-coming producer Sean Rogan (Spotify Sean Rogan). This collaboration is set to continue to record an EP and later a whole album. The song is written by 'Taurud'.

Artist says that the last year has been a road of discovery of who he really is, why he is on the current path, and now is ready for a creative leap forward. 'I was hiding for quite some time. I still wrote songs and met people I wanted to collaborate with but wasn’t going out there to show any of my work to anyone. I needed to redefine what my purpose in music was. Now I simply want to do it to give something beautiful to everyone and to make this world a better place. No attachments to money, success, attention, or anything like that. Just pure creativity. This song is about my love for every human on the earth.'

The musicians plans to release another single in spring, followed by an EP, album, and concerts in Riga and Jurmala. 'Taurud' is actively participating in Manchester’s music scene. He’s hoping to return to his home country in spring with a new song and video.

Latvian singer and songwriter ‘Taurud’

releases a new single, ‘Night Sky’.

After a successful start last year ‘Taurud’ continues his journey and has a new exciting release. The latest song, ‘Night Sky’, which for the first time also has a Latvian version (‘Nakts Skan’), is available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and other platforms.

‘Taurud’, in his own words, describes the song: This is a profoundly philosophical song. It talks about our ever-changing existence and the universe around us. The night sky or night itself is only an illusion, rather a phantasy perceived in some mystical being’s consciousness. Realities through which our consciousness can travel, including this one, are not actual but like a dream. I can't explain who we really are but I am sure we are able to love. We are indescribable beings, and our power and potential are enormous - yet to be discovered fully. I like the metaphor for the night sky or its sound. It resembles our transcending nature quite well. What is the night sky? While it is night here on earth, is it the day on the moon? So what is the “night sky” - illusion? So let me ask you, what is our perception of reality, ourselves, principles, and beliefs? You know the answer.

This double singe is the last piece of the trilogy. Two singles were recorded and released in the previous year, and now the missing piece. These songs let us get to know ‘Taurud’ and his sound, his views on life. This music once was described as a culmination of dreamy and heartfelt sounds, experimenting with different levels of intimacy.

Later this summer, we can expect more new music from the artist. At this point, it is hard to predict how the events will unfold across Europe and whether ‘Taurud’ will be able to play live shows, but he and his team are hopeful that it will happen and they will be able to visit ‘Taurud’s’ home Latvia as well.

Latvian singer and songwriter Taurud releases a new song ‘I’m Changing’ as this year’s finale.

On December 21, when many gurus and spiritual leaders predict the beginning of the new world, Taurud comes out with a new song ‘I’m Changing’. Listen to it on Bandcamp.

The title ‘I’m Changing’ undoubtedly sets the expectation of what the song is about. Taurud describes: So here we are at the end of 2020. What’s ahead of us is still unknown. However, one thing we all feel and know for sure is that things are changing rapidly. Universal energy and information always have been flowing through me, and I feel it so vividly that we are approaching something incredible no matter how hard it might be to believe it right at this moment. It’s time to get rid of everything that no longer serves us, it’s time to take the wheel and steer towards the light with confidence. This song is a mantra that will help us along the way.

Every one of us goes through many different experiences and we always look back and reflect on them by the end of the year. It’s a special moment. You can feel a bit of that festive vibe in the song. It’s a collaboration with Tom Stott from Manchester band LUX who plays keyboards on all Taurud’s tracks and they are going to continue working on records together.

We can expect more inspiring music from Taurud next year as he promises some surprises as well. His journey began in August with the song ‘I Keep Loving You’ was followed by ‘I’ve Been Carrying My Past Lives With Me’ in November and, ‘I’m Changing’ is the one to wrap this year up. The song is about what I feel is the most important right now - our growth - says the artist himself.

Singer and songwriter Taurud releases the second single 'I’ve Been Carrying My past Lives With Me'.

On November 13, Taurud releases a new single I’ve Been Carrying My Past Lives With Me, the second single building up to the album due next year. Listen to it on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and other platforms.

Taurud says: The only thing ever messing with our heads is either our memories we are collecting like souvenirs or projections of the future. One is programming how we react and deal with things and, the other simply causes discomfort, cos we’re afraid of all the unknown. The song is about breaking free, being in the moment. It’s like a friendly tap on the shoulder saying you got this, it’s all in our head and I am convinced that anyone can overcome anything. Be inspired.

From listening to the new single it seems like the artist is honest and isn't pretending to be a believer in reincarnation. In terms of sound, it feels a bit like a rock, pop, soul, jazz in a blender and yet claims that it fits together as a cohesive whole. For eleven years Taurud spends a lot of his time in Manchester and it seems like some of that "Manc" sound is there too.

The songwriter continues to work on his album remotely and feels good about releasing it next year. Jake Evans who has worked with Bad Lieutenant, New Order, Jimi Goodwin, Doves, James Eller to name a few is the one to put it all together in The Big Red Studios.

Taurud admits: It's not easy still right now we're on a mission. This music is made to bring love and joy. Light always wins.

August 12, 2020.

Taurud releases his debut single 'I Keep Loving You'.

Taurud is a singer and songwriter from Jurmala, Latvia, currently based in Manchester UK. On August 12, he releases his debut single which is the first taste from the 2021 upcoming album.  'I Keep Loving You' is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and other streaming services.

Debut single 'I Keep Loving You' talks about true unconditional love.

Taurud: It’s a song about feelings that make us human, those feelings which can literally bend our reality. Feelings that can turn black and white into colors, feelings that can awaken us from sleepwalking. Suddenly everything is real. So often we’re trying to put each other in these invisible boxes to fit for us and if we can’t our feelings alter. This song is about the love we are ready to give regardless of someone’s shortcomings or the pain they cause. I hope it will become people’s song and others will use it to tell someone how much they love them. I wrote it for that.

Taurud's music is a culmination of dreamy and heartfelt sounds, experimenting with different levels of intimacy. Taurud touch acts as a refuge for those who need a break from the busy world whizzing by. It’s that feeling of being seemingly adrift in the sea of our own realities, losing yourself, hitting rock bottom, and finding your feet once again. His music attempts to shine a little light into a dark room, with a desire to spread hope, love, and peace throughout.

A musician who grew up listening “Pink Floyd” and, “Queen” from age of 5 says about himself: I’m someone who learned everything myself. Never had teachers who’d show me how to write songs or play guitar. I started writing when I was around 15. Still doing it really impulsively. Very often I can’t sleep cos I have to create a new song.  It feels like I’m a human antenna that's receiving signals. Everything is energy and vibrating at different frequencies. Theoretically, we all are music.

Taurud releases his debut single this year. It’s the beginning of very focused work to introduce Latvia and other countries to his art. Currently working on his debut album with top musicians from Manchester, recording at “The Big Red Studio” with Jake Evans who’s collaborated with so many great musicians including “New Order”. The upcoming record will include 8 original songs. Taurud says: We are recording it all live man, like back in the day. We are capturing real moments in the studio. It’s such real music. I’m so excited.
